Hector Bellerin's brilliant gesture for cold Arsenal mascot in Anfield tunnel

There has been a lot of talk about the Arsenal captaincy over the past few days, and at Anfield on Wednesday we saw that it isn't just on the pitch that Gunners skippers are expected to step up.

Granit Xhaka's reaction to being substituted in the 2-2 draw with Crystal Palace at the Emirates on Sunday is still being debated by many, but the Swiss wasn't on Merseyside for this clash.

Instead, his armband was being worn by the full-back Hector Bellerin, who melted Sky Sports' viewers hearts with a lovely moment before kick-off.

Bellerin was leading out his side alongside the Liverpool skipper James Milner, but before that the right-back was seen chatting to a young Arsenal mascot who seemed a bit chilly.

Taking on his captain's responsibilities, Bellerin decided to remove his jacket and warm up the young lad, who looked delighted to be helped out by his hero.

Bellerin first skippered the Gunners in the Europa League victory over Standard Liege earlier this month, when he spoke about how delighted he was to sport the armband and to be back in the side.

"It's one of the best feelings," he said.

"For anyone who's been injured with an injury like that they understand how hard it is, the process, but it's something that's made me more mature and a better human and a better player.

"I'm so grateful to all the coaches, all the physios, my friends and family who have been around me and made it that little bit easier.

"Hopefully I'm going to get to enjoy my football."

The Gunners fell a goal down early on at Anfield when Shkodran Mustafi put through his own net, but they hit back to lead 3-2 at the break through a Lucas Torreira strike and a brace from Gabriel Martinelli, with Milner bagging a penalty for the Reds.
