Hector Bellerin ready for Arsenal return but Dani Ceballos may miss festive fixtures

Hector Bellerin is hoping to return to action on Thursday for Arsenal’s match against Brighton.

The Spaniard was suffering with a hamstring problem last week and missed the games against Eintracht Frankfurt on Thursday and at Norwich on Sunday.

The right-back is still being assessed by Arsenal’s medical staff, but he has a chance of making his comeback when the Gunners host Brighton.

Dani Ceballos, however, will not play any part and is still a few weeks away from returning due to his own hamstring issue.

The match against Brighton will be interim head coach Freddie Ljungberg’s first game at the Emirates Stadium.

The Swede’s appointment, even if only on a temporary basis, has gone done well with Arsenal supporters and goalkeeper Bernd Leno has backed him to succeed.

“I think Emery did a very good job for one and a half years but the club decided to change the manager and something in the team,” said Leno.

“I think Freddie knows the dressing room and the characters of the players so he can handle everybody, so I think that’s very important.”
