Hector Bellerin provides Arsenal injury update during Dubai training camp

Despite being ruled out for the remainder of the season, Hector Bellerin has remained upbeat - and he recently showed his humorous side during Arsenal ’s warm-weather training camp.

Bellerin picked up an injury to his left knee in January when he went down unchallenged during the second half of the Gunners’ 2-0 win over Chelsea , with the club fearing he could miss up to nine months of action.

Later that month the right-back returned to Spain to undergo surgery to treat his ruptured anterior cruciate ligament injury.

Bellerin has regularly kept his fans up-to-date on his rehabilitation, and at the beginning of this month he was able to stand on his feet for the first time since his op.

Arsenal squad revealed for Al Nasr friendly in Dubai - including Mesut Ozil

The right-back’s positive progress ultimately allowed him to travel with the Gunners squad for their mid-season training camp in Dubai.

Unai Emery opted to take advantage of the current international break by organising a warm-weather camp, and Bellerin has been seen in sessions.

And the Spaniard showed his sense of humour on Instagram as he posted yet another update on his road to recovery.

He captioned the picture, which showed the defender engaging in a chat with manager Emery: “So boss, you reckon I can play without my left leg?”

Arsenal star will sign new deal this summer on one condition

Bellerin was referring to his season-ending left knee injury, and will be hoping to continue his progress as he looks to return to the first-team fold.

Emery will also put his side up against Al-Nasr in a friendly match on March 26 which will mark the formal opening of the recently-upgraded Al Maktoum Stadium.

The manager said said: “It will be great to get some warm weather training and break up the usual routine as we enter the final stage of the season.

“The facilities in Dubai are fantastic and it will be an honour to be part of the formal opening ceremony for the new stadium.”
