Hector Bellerin makes feelings clear about Arsenal future as Barcelona swap deal emerges

Hector Bellerin has reportedly made it clear to Mikel Arteta that he wants to leave Arsenal this summer.

The 26-year-old has been linked with a move away from the Emirates during the transfer window, but nothing has materialised yet as suitors have been unable to meet the Gunners' valuation for the full-back.

Inter Milan were in talks with the north London club, but the Italians could only offer a loan deal, with an option to buy or an obligation to buy based on specific conditions.

Arsenal are only willing to entertain a permanent deal or a loan with an obligation to buy to guarantee they would receive a fee for the Spaniard.

But it's claimed Bellerin is growing increasingly frustrated at what he feels is an unwillingness from the club to let him leave, according to The Athletic.

Bellerin has expressed to Arteta and sporting director Edu that he wants to seal a move away from Arsenal and is even willing to take a pay cut to make that happen.

The player's representatives have proposed other landing spots to Edu, but neither have sped the process along.

One of those was a swap deal involving Barcelona rising star Emerson Royal as Bellerin looked to seal a return to his boyhood club. Another included Kieran Trippier who has been tipped to make a switch back to the Premier League following a stint in Spain with Atletico Madrid.

Bellerin has lodged 239 appearances for the Gunners after leaving Barcelona as a teenager a decade ago, but he has not been the same player since suffering a serious knee injury in 2019.

It seems he isn't a part of Arteta's plans either as Calum Chambers, Cedric Soares and Ainsley Maitland-Niles are all competing against him for a starting spot at right-back.

Chambers was given the nod in Arsenal's 2-0 defeat against Brentford in their Premier League opener on Friday night, before new signing Nuno Tavares, who is a left-back, climbed off the bench in the second half.
