Hector Bellerin injury: Arsenal star out for 'weeks', confirms Unai Emery

Arsenal head coach Unai Emery has confirmed that Hector Bellerin is out for "some weeks" after picking up an injury in Sunday's 3-2 defeat at Southampton.

The right-back looked in pain as half-time approached at St Mary's but did not return for the second half, being replaced by Alexandre Lacazette.

It is another defensive injury blow for Arsenal, who have already lost Rob Holding for the remainder of the season while Skodran Mustafi, Sead Kolasinac and Konstantinos Mavropanos have concerns over fitness.

Laurent Koscielny started a Premier League game for the first time this season, after returning for an ACL injury, but struggled at time at St Mary's.

"We are going to wait tomorrow and Tuesday, and Wednesday we are going play, and then Saturday also," Emery said.

"We need every player. Bellerin has a small injury - he is going to be some weeks off I think.

"Sokratis is coming back and we will see how Mustafi and Kolasinac are, and it is good news Koscielny can be with us for the next matches. It is not a good result but it was important for us [to have them back]."
