Traffic is building on the M60 after a crash on a slip road just after 8am.
The M60 anti-clockwise exit slip road at junction 16 for Salford, Kearsley and the A666 has been closed as police dealt with the collision there.
The motorway itself was also stopped by police as officers reopened the slip road.
All lanes are now flowing but congestion is backing up to junction 17 for Prestwich and Whitefield.
Transport for Greater Manchester has asked motorists to plan for the journey as queues grow.
