Heavy rush hour traffic on M60 near Oldham following crash between three vehicles

Commuters are facing delays on the M60 near Oldham after a three vehicle collision during rush hour.

Traffic has been described as 'slow moving' between junction 21, Middleton and 22 anticlockwise after a crash between three cars.

Police, ambulance and fire crews attended the scene shortly after 4.30pm.

It is believed one person had been trapped inside a vehicle but managed to remove themselves before the fire service arrived.

A number of passengers are being treated at the scene by paramedics. It is not yet clear if any have been taken to hospital.

The cars involved are thought to be a Suzuki, Lexus and Hyundai.

A spokesperson for Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service said: "We received a call at 4.36pm to reports of an RTC involving three vehicles on the hard shoulder.

"One person was reported trapped inside the vehicle but has since self released from the vehicle and being assessed by a paramedic at the scene.
