Heavy runoff closes Pa La-u waterfall

HUA HIN: The popular Pa La-u waterfall in Kaeng Krachan National Park has been closed to tourists after runoff triggered by heavy rain made the area too dangerous for visitors.

Mana Permpoon, chief of the national park, said continuous heavy downpours had caused water volume at the site 60 kilometres west of Hua Hin town to keep rising. This had made the waterfall unsafe for recreational activities.

For the safety of lives and property of visitors, the national park decided to close the waterfall, starting from June 9 until conditions return to normal, said Mr Mana.
