BHOPAL: The meteorological department warned of heavy rain in 14 districts of the state including Ratlam where 161 mm of rain was recorded on Sunday leading to floods. Bhopal is also likely to get some rains in the next 24 hours.
According to its forecast heavy rainfall would occur in western MP, Annupur, Mandla and Dindori districts. On Monday, the weather remained hot and humid in Bhopal as the sun shone over thecity.
Weather office said that heavy rainfall was expected in 11 districts of the state Indore, Ujjain, Ratlam, Neemuch and Mandsaur till Tuesday.
On Monday Mandla and Malajlhand (Balaghat) received heavy rainfall where 56 mm and 80 mm respectively rainfall was recorded. Pachmarhi also received 33 mm of rainfall.
Weather office said that Bhopal so far has received 925 mm of rainfall which was 83mm below the normal. It predicts “rain or thunder showers over Bhopal” during the next 24 hours till Tuesday morning. Large parts of the state in Sagar division in Bundelkhand and Jabalpur division in Mahakaushal continued to be dry as compared to other districts.
