KOCHI: Orange alert for heavy rainfall has been issued for Ernakulam from Monday to Wednesday. District collector Jafar Malik has directed officials to take necessary measures.
Control rooms at all taluk offices will function until further notice. Vehicles should be arranged for disaster management. Four-member squad will be formed under deputy tahasildars. The functioning of quarries has been suspended.
Tourism activities will not be allowed in hilly areas and waterbodies. KSRTC has been asked to arrange 14 buses to evacuate people, if necessary.
Traffic on hill ranges will be regulated between 7pm and 7am. Generators should be arranged in Covid hospitals. Fishermen have been asked to not to venture into sea or lakes.
