Heavy rain set to hit Greater Manchester - with possible hail and thunder

Heavy rain could be in store for Greater Manchester today - and the wet weather is expected to continue across the region.

The morning is set to start off dry, but will see the occasional bout of heavy rain on Wednesday (October 20).

The Met Office predicts the rain will be accompanied by some gusty winds.

Hail and thunder could also be possible in places.

The rain will then turn more showery into the afternoon, with temperatures reaching 15C.

Tonight, the showers are expected to fade, but will return in the south of the county in the early hours of Thursday morning.

By dawn, the weather is expected to be drier, clearer and chillier, with a minimum temperature of 4C.

On Thursday, while we can expect it to feel much colder, the sun is set to make an appearance.

We are expected to see sunny skies with a breeze and just a small chance of showers.

The maximum temperature is expected to be 12C.
