Heavy rain could cause flooding in Leeds next week, warns Met Office

The Met Office has warned that a heavy downpour could cause flooding in Leeds next week.

Leeds has seen its fair share of rain over the past few weeks and it looks like the city could be in for quite a bit more before November is through.

This time forecasters are predicting heavy rain to hit on Wednesday, when a yellow warning is in place from midnight until 6pm.

A Met Office spokesperson said: "Further heavy rain is possible on Wednesday with a risk of flooding."

This will bring with it "a small chance that homes and businesses could be flooded, causing damage to some buildings," as well as a small chance communities could be cut off.

The warning covers much of Yorkshire with Huddersfield, Sheffield and York also bracing themselves for heavy rain.
