Heavy police presence on Leith Walk after reports of 'person sitting in the road'

Emergency services have been in attendance on Leith Walk tonight after a person was reportedly found sitting in the road.

An eyewitness told Edinburgh Live that four police cars and a number of officers were in attendance at the concerning incident, at around 8.30pm, and traffic was being diverted away from the area.

They said: "There's a heavy police presence here. Traffic is just starting to pass now, but cars were being diverted away.

"It's not a crash, but somebody was sitting in the road. Police just seem to be talking to them now though."

Police confirmed that they were in attendance at an incident, but were unable to confirm any further details at this time.
