Heavy police presence in Bristol as homes and vehicle raided in drug bust

A large police team searched homes in Hillfields and Kingswood after stopping a vehicle and finding suspected cannabis.

Officers stopped a vehicle in Kingsway at about 4.45pm yesterday (Sunday, April 19).

An Avon and Somerset police spokesman said: "It was searched and a quantity of what was believed to be class B drugs discovered.

"Two men, both aged 25, were arrested at the scene on suspicion of a drug supply offence.

"Searches of properties in the Hillfields and Kingswood areas of Bristol were carried out later that same day as part of our investigation."

A witness told Bristol Live she saw five police cars on Marshfield Road at around 9pm, carrying "loads of evidence bags" into a home.

The force spokesman confirmed the drug believed to have been found is suspected cannabis.
