Heavy flooding causes delays on major Leeds train line

Rain has been a constant in Leeds over the past few days, and the adverse weather caused issues for Tuesday morning commuters.

The heavy rain reportedly caused flooding on a major Leeds train line, leaving workers struggling to make their way to work.

The busy line between Leeds and nearby Shipley was blocked during the morning rush-hour, causing sizeable delays.

An update from LNER on Twitter said: "Due to heavy rain flooding the railway between #Leeds and #Shipley all lines are blocked.

"Train services running through these stations may be delayed by up to 30 minutes."

Our latest updates showed that the disruption had been due to end by 08:30, with most trains now showing as on-time.
