Heavy emergency service presence in south Bristol tonight

Police cars and ambulances descended on a quiet Bristol street this evening (September 17).

A large number of officers arrived on Wedmore Vale in Lower Knowle, near the entrance to the Northern Slopes, at about 7pm.

A spokesperson for Avon and Somerset police said they responded to a concern for welfare incident at 6.50pm.

An injured man was taken to hospital, and there were no arrests.

A Bristol Live reporter who was at the scene said that there were three ambulances, including an incident response unit, and three police cars at the scene.

The incident was reportedly unfolding on the open space of the Northern Slopes.
