A woman's body has been found in a north Bristol property.

Police officers were called to Melbourne Road on Friday (June 14).

One witness reported seeing two police forensics vans and officers going door-to-door on Sunday (June 16).

Avon and Somerset Constabulary has confirmed the death is being treated as "unexplained" after post-mortem results proved inconclusive.

A police spokesperson added enquiries into the death are ongoing.

"We were called to reports of the body of a woman at a property in Melbourne Road in Bishopston on Friday (June 14) at about 8.40pm," he said.

"The death is still being treated as unexplained after the result of a post-mortem was inconclusive.

"Toxicology tests will now be carried out which could take several weeks.

"Police enquiries into the death are continuing."
