Heavy delays as person taken to hospital after crash in north Manchester

A person has been taken to hospital following a crash in north Manchester.

There are currently heavy delays on the A62 Oldham Road at the junction of the A6010 Queens Road in Cheetham Hill.

Police were called at around 3.25pm this afternoon (Friday, 23 April) to reports of a crash between two cars.

One person has been take to hospital following the collision.

Further details about the patient have not been revealed, but their injuries are not thought to be serious.

The car's airbags have been activated on the driver's side of the vehicle.

An Audi also appears to have been involved in the crash, and can be seen on a tow truck with damage to the front of the car.

The road has now reopened but drivers are still reporting heavy traffic in the area.

There are also ongoing roadworks in the area which are also said to be contributing to the traffic.

A spokesperson for North West Ambulance Service confirmed: "We have attended the scene following reports of an road traffic collision and taken one patient to hospital."

A spokesperson for GMP said: "At around 3.25pm this afternoon (Friday 23 April 2021) police were called to a two vehicle road traffic collision on Oldham Road, Manchester.

"Ambulance and fire attended. There are no reported serious injuries and the road has now re-opened."
