Weather chiefs have warned that there could be flooding across Ayrshire this weekend.

The Met Office have issued a yellow warning for rainfall between 12noon on Saturday and 3pm on Sunday.

The warning covers most of the south-west and east of Scotland, as well as the north of England.

The Met Office warning says: "Heavy rainfall may lead to surface water and flooding in a few places and travel disruption.

"There is a small chance that homes and businesses could be flooded, causing damage to some buildings.

"There is a small chance of fast flowing or deep floodwater.

"Where flooding occurs, there is a slight chance of delays or cancellations to train and bus services.

"Spray and flooding could lead to difficult driving conditions and some road closures."
