A crash on a busy road left a car heavily damaged as it was towed away.
The crash took place on A553 Hoylake Road Westbound, near the junction with Sandbrook Lane, on the Wirral. Traffic monitoring service Inrix reported traffic was at a standstill on the road as a result of the incident.
Pictures from the scene show a red car with heavy damage to the front being towed away. Police and paramedics can also be seen at the scene.

Inrix reported the road was re-opened at around 1pm on May 14. Merseyside Police were approached for a comment.
