Heating back on at Royal Bolton Hospital after issues meant patients had to be turned away

Heating issues which forced Royal Bolton Hospital to turn away emergency and maternity patients have now been fixed.

Yesterday (Saturday December 4) bosses issued a statement which confirmed that the hospital had 'lost all heating'.

The statement read: "We are currently experiencing issues with our heating systems and unfortunately have lost all heating at Royal Bolton Hospital.

"As a result, we have had to divert any new admittances via ambulance and to our maternity unit. We are working hard with our estates team at iFM Bolton to restore heating at the hospital, and hope to be back up and running as soon as possible. We apologise for any inconvenience this has caused."

This afternoon (Sunday December 5) hospital staff confirmed that the heating had returned.

Staff also said that patients are no longer being diverted.

Manchester Evening News has contacted Bolton NHS Foundation for further comment.
