Heather The Musical in Leeds cancelled after Covid outbreak as refunds issued

The remaining Heathers The Musical performances at Leeds Grand Theatre have been cancelled after a positive coronavirus case.

Leeds Heritage Theatres issued an apology which announced that today's 7.30pm performance, as well as tomorrow’s 2.30 and 7.30pm shows, have been cancelled.

The musical has been in the theatre since August 5 with the last performance due on Saturday 14 August.

However, in line with current government coronavirus guidelines, the performance has been cancelled. and bookers will be issued a full refund including booking fees.

A statement issued on Facebook reads: “Important update for bookers of Heathers The Musical tonight or tomorrow (Fri 13 August, 7.30pm or Sat 14 August, 2.30pm or 7.30pm) at Leeds Grand Theatre.

“We regret to inform you that due to a positive COVID case in the Heathers company, in line with current Government COVID guidelines, the remaining performances have had to be cancelled.

“We understand you will be disappointed, especially so close to the performance, but this course of action remains the safest way to protect the company and our audiences. We thank you for your understanding.

“We will be offering all bookers a full refund including booking fees*.

“As you can appreciate, this is an extremely busy time for our team whilst we try to resolve the situation as quickly and efficiently as possible, so we kindly ask that you refrain from contacting us.

“Our sincere apologies once again. Leeds Heritage Theatres."
