Summer is already peaking across Telangana with the twin cities day temperature crossing the 40 degree C mark, recording 40.8 degree C, four degrees above normal, while Adilabad topped the heat list across the state with 42.3 degree C on Thursday.
Elsewhere, Mahabubnagar (40.1), Medak (40.4), Nalgonda (41), Nizamabad (41.4) and Ramagundam ( 41.2) have recorded maximum temperatures soaring above 40 degree C. India Meteorological Department has sounded a heat wave warning for the next couple of days at isolated pockets in Adilabad, Komaram Bheem Asifabad, Mancherial, Nirmal, Nizamabad and Jagityal districts.
The forecast for the capital region for Saturday is partly cloudy sky with chances of thunder and lightning, but the day temperature is likely to hover around 41 degree C and the minimum temperature is likely to be around 25 degree C. The minimum temperature has been 24.6 degree C, two degrees above normal.
Telangana State Development Planning Society (TSDPS) in its weather bulletin stated that the highest maximum temperature was 43.9 degree C at Kerameri, Kumuram Bheem district and within GHMC, the hottest area has been 40.8 degree C at Maruthi Nagar, Medchal-Malkajgiri.
The weather is expected to be mainly dry for the next three days and the maximum temperatures are expected to be in the range of 39-42 degree C, while the minimum temperatures to be in the range of 22-25 degree C. Within the twin cities, the maximum temperatures are expected to be in the range of 38-40 degree C, while the minimum temperatures to be in the range of 23-25 degree C.
