The short-handed Miami Heat will be without their only true point guard Goran Dragic for at least the next three games after getting his right knee drained.
However, the injury doesn't appear to be as serious as originally feared.
"You don't want to do no procedure if it's not necessary, so yeah, I was relieved," Dragic said after Monday's practice. "From there on, you need to rest a little bit and be back."
Dragic had fluid in the troublesome knee drained on Monday and will miss Tuesday night's home game against the Brooklyn Nets. He also won't travel for the ensuing two-game road trip.
Dragic missed two games when he first experienced swelling in the knee before returning for four games. He then was held out of Sunday's 113-97 loss to the Los Angeles Lakers at AmericanAirlines Arena.
"You're always concerned when you don't feel right. I was happy with the news I got (Monday)," Dragic said. "It's not a pain, but you have that feeling that you can't move well. It's like a bubble (in the knee), so it's tough."
Dragic felt the swelling return during Friday night's loss to the Indiana Pacers.
Earlier this season, he received a cortisone shot in his foot after experiencing soreness that lingered from training camp.
