Four viewers have complained about new David Duchovny drama, Californication. Nothing to do with the show's saucy content or ribald humour, but the name of the show itself. The four people who have complained, you see, are the band members of the Red Hot Chili Peppers, and they are not at all impressed that the Showtime series, which airs on Channel Five over here, has used the name of their 1999 album called, er, Californication. "Californication is the signature CD, video and song of the band's career," said the group's frontman, Anthony Kiedis. "For some TV show to come along and steal our identity is not right." Rock and roll! Perhaps they could swap it for the name of another Chili Peppers' album: Greatest Hits.
