A hearty band of climbers braved terrible weather on the hills as they raised cash for a Wishaw kids charity.
The walkers reached the summit of Ben Lomond in good spirits, raising several thousand pounds for the Les Hoey MBE DreamMaker Foundation into the bargain.
Les completed the climb himself and admitted it was a hard slog in challenging conditions.
He told Lanarkshire Live : “It was a challenging climb.
"We had wind and swirling rain and it was really cold at the top.
“Then we got to the top and the sun came out. I think we had four seasons in the space of a couple of hours.
“When we climbed Tinto earlier this year myself and a few others were complaining because it was so hot. We didn’t have that problem this time around.
“We had 16 people climbing on the day and 14 made it to the top. It was really busy, I even saw a couple of guys carrying their bikes to the top so they could cycle back down.
“In total we raised around £3500 which we were delighted with.
"All that money will go towards this year’s Christmas party.
“That’s a big target for us as it will be our first major event since restrictions have been lifted.”
The Ben Lomond climb is the second big fundraising drive the charity have started in as many weeks as they get set to relaunch their events as COVID restrictions ease.
The DreamMaker Foundation have now brought out their own range of alcoholic drinks.
And Wishaw’s Love Island star Harry Young was on hand to launch the drinks at several Lanarkshire bars.
Les added: “The drinks have been a huge success, there’s no doubt about it.
“We have had a huge number of pubs in Motherwell and Wishaw who have ordered drinks which is fantastic.
“We are also hoping that it will be an ideal Christmas gift for people.”
