Heartwarming moment Santa uses crane to meet kids at Scots hospital with indoors visits not allowed

Santa switched his trusty sleigh for a crane in order to visit children at a Scots hospital at the weekend.

As indoor visits are off-limits at the moment he opted to meet some of the patients at the Royal Aberdeen Children's Hospital (RACH) through their windows – making their day on Sunday, December 14.

Father Christmas was assisted by super-generous Scottish Fire and Rescue Service firefighters on the crane provided by construction company, TEXO.

He was joined by elves and other popular characters who were visiting from Morrisons stores in Aberdeenshire to entertain the children.

A spokesperson from The Archie Foundation said: "This morning we had an incredibly special visitor at Royal Aberdeen Children's Hospital!

"Santa arrived (in a slightly unconventional way) to bring some festive cheer to children spending the Christmas period in hospital.

"Due to Covid restrictions Santa was unable to come into RACH but the amazing Scottish Fire and Rescue Service, elves from Morrisons Peterhead, Banchory, Inverurie and Aberdeen Stores and TEXO were there to save the day.

"We really can't put into words how special today was, and we can't thank everyone involved enough."
