Heartwarming moment 86-year-old 'super gran' leaves hospital having beaten coronavirus

This is the heartwarming moment an 86-year-old 'super gran' was discharged from hospital having beaten coronavirus.

NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde shared footage of Catherine Reilly being applauded and cheered by staff at the Royal Alexandra Hospital in Paisley as she is wheeled out of the ward.

Catherine can be seeing smiling ear-to-ear and lapping up the attention as her NHS heroes gave her a fantastic send off.

The pensioner is now in the company of her grandchildren once more who are delighted to have her home.

NHSGGC said: "We have another heartwarming moment as patient Catherine Reilly, aged 86 was discharged home from Ward 5 at the RAH, after recovering from Covid-19.

"Her grandchildren have always called her 'super gran' and are delighted to have her home safely."

Best of wishes from all of us at Glasgow Live on your recovery, Catherine, and thanks for brightening up our day.
