Hearts XI to face Dundee United revealed as Robbie Neilson targets pre Europa League booster

Robbie Neilson has named his Hearts side to face Dundee United as they look to put behind the disappointment of last week's draw in the Edinburgh derby.

Lawrence Shankland grabbed his first goal for the club since his return to Scotland from Belgium after some brilliant play from team-mate Barrie McKay to set up his goal, but returning Hibs fans' favourite Martin Boyle - who had just put pen to paper less than 24 hours earlier - climbed off the bench to fire beyond Craig Gordon to send Easter Road wild and claim a share of the spoils.

Now, all the focus turns to a hurting United side managed by ex-Hibees gaffer Jack Ross. They come into this one on the back of a defeat in their last league outing against Livingston and a hammering in the Europa Conference League at the hands of AZ Alkmaar. The Tannadice outfit took a one-goal lead to the Netherlands but they were battered 7-0 in the return leg. Hearts kick off their European campaign this coming Thursday as they travel to Switzerland to face FC Zurich before the return leg in the capital the following week.

Neilson will be looking for a big confidence boosting win to take into the Europa League play-off, while also maintaining their unbeaten start to the Scottish Premiership season as they look to make it seven points from a possible nine.

Hearts XI: Gordon, M, Smith, Halkett, Grant, Shankland, Boyce, Devlin, Rowles, Forrest, McKay, Cochrane.

Subs: Stewart, Kingsley, Haring, Mackay-Steven, Atkinson, Halliday, Neilson, Sibbick, Ginnelly.
