Hearts will receive a percentage of any future transfer fee FSV Zwickau get for Marcus Godinho.
The Canadian’s move to the German 3. Liga side was confirmed yesterday.
Godinho was behind Michael Smith and Jamie Brandon in the pecking order for the right back position at Hearts .
Craig Levein had admitted earlier in the summer that he may not get the game time he was looking for at Tynecastle , and the Canada international has taken the opportunity to move on.
Should things go well in Germany and Godinho is picked up by a bigger club, Hearts will receive a portion of any fee.
He spent three years at Hearts after arriving as a development player in 2016, but two serious knee injuries hampered his chances of establishing himself as a first team regualr.
The arrival and subsequent consistency of Michael Smith didn’t help, while Jamie Brandon being of a similar age and level meant Hearts were well stocked in that department and something had to give.
