Hearts WILL give Celtic a guard of honour before Premiership title party

Hearts will give Celtic a guard of honour before the side's meet in Sunday's final Premiership fixture of the season.

The Jambos saluted the Parkhead side last season at Tynecastle and will once again honour the league winners when they enter the field at Celtic Park.

Record Sport exclusively revealed Rangers wouldn't applaud their rivals on to the pitch for last Sunday’s Old Firm clash.

That fixture was Celtic's first game since winning the league at Aberdeen and it's tradition for the champions to be welcomed on to the pitch in their next game.

The decision caused plenty of debate with the decision discussed at length in the build-up to the big clash.

Interim boss Neil Lennon insisted his side would have given Rangers a guard of honour if roles were reverse and claimed the Ibrox side lacked class over the snub.

He said: “It’s a break from tradition. I think we would have done it if the shoe had been on the other foot. But it’s not an issue for me.

“It would have been a touch of class if they did it. I’m disappointed they are not. Celtic would have done it.”
