Hearts vs Inverness Scottish Cup semi final ticket sales revealed as Hampden set to be less than half full

Hearts and Inverness are set to contest the first of this weekend's Scottish Cup semi finals in front of a less than half full Hampden .

The Jambos have sold around 18,000 tickets while Inverness hit the 3000 mark on Thursday night.

And while both are hopeful of a few late sales, the attendance for Saturday's lunchtime kick off will be well below half of the 52,000 stadium.

Caley Thistle had hit out at the timing of the showdown with the Highlanders' support facing an early rise for the 12.15pm kick off.

Manager John Robertson had expected Hearts to push for the match to moved to Easter Road where the 20,400 capacity would have produced a crackling atmosphere.

But the SFA stood by tradition and the match goes ahead at the 52,000 National Stadium.

An Inverness spokesman told Record Sport Online on Friday morning: "It's going well, we are over the 3000 mark and hopefully with the good weather we will get a few more through the door.

"I think Hearts will outnumber us about six to one but we will definitely make more noise."

The winners will return to Hampden next month to play either Aberdeen or Celtic in the final.

That second semi final is expected to be close to a sell out.
