Hearts vs Dundee moved as Championship rivals set for prime time grudge match

Hearts' grudge match with Dundee has been moved for television coverage as the pair square off in the Championship opener.

It was a tumultuous summer in Scottish football with the Jambos relegated when the SPFL season was ended early.

The ballot to end the campaign early came down to just one vote, with Dundee initially voting no to concluding the season early before then insisting their response should not be counted.

That left the fate of Hearts, Partick Thistle and Stranraer in the balance before the Dens Park club eventually decided to end the campaign.

With the Tynecastle club bottom of the Premiership at the time they were relegated and the fixture computer threw up an immediate clash with Dundee in the second tier.

Now the clash has been moved to 7.45pm on Friday, October 16 for television coverage on BBC Scotland.

Robbie Neilson's side will also be playing on a Friday the following week when they visit Arbroath but it's the Dundee game that could provide fireworks.

Hearts, along with Partick Thistle, fought a legal battle against their relegation but an SFA arbitration panel ultimately found against the M8 Alliance.
