Hearts vs Alloa team predicted as Championship title lies within touching distance

They can’t win it tonight, but Hearts can make it possible to be crowned league champions less than 24 hours later.

A win over Alloa on Friday night will be enough to secure the Championship title if both Dundee and Raith Rovers drop points in their matches on Saturday.

Robbie Neilson’s team haven’t won in their last four matches, so three points would be welcome regardless of the permutations that can see them secure promotion.

They’ve beaten the Wasps 3-0 and 3-1 in their two previous league meetings, but were dumped out of the Betfred Cup in Clackmannanshire after extra time.

Left back Stephen Kingsley is still unavailable after suffering a groin injury against Arbroath last month, but Aidy White is expected to be fit enough to fill in again despite having to come off against Dunfermline last week.

Andy Halliday is also in contention - he was named among the substitutes last week despite suffering from a thigh problem with Neilson reluctant to put him on in case he aggravated it.

Shay Logan played 90 minutes on his debut and is expected to line up at right back once again, with Michael Smith continuing in the centre of defence.

Predicted Hearts lineup: Gordon, S Logan, Smith, Halkett, White, Haring Irving, McEneff, Naismith, Boyce, Gnanduillet.
