Hearts vs Alloa pulled from TV as Prince Philip death causes 'Operation Forth Bridge' rethink

The Championship clash between Hearts and Alloa appears to have been pulled from the television schedules following the death of Prince Philip.

The Duke of Edinburgh passed away on Friday at the age of 99, and will be commemorated with a minute's silence at all SPFL matches this weekend.

A detailed protocol named Operation Forth Bridge is in place in the event of the royal consort's death and has seen all light programming pulled by the BBC and ITV.

And it appears that Hearts vs Alloa has fallen victim to the scheduling changes after the fixture disappeared from the BBC Scotland schedule.

The Championship clash was due to be shown live on Friday evening but the channel has replaced all content with BBC News coverage.

The game itself will still go ahead, with a minute's silence to be observed, and will be shown on iPlayer and the BBC Sport website.

A number of other protocols will go into effect following Prince Philip's passing, Such as all flags being lowered to half-mast in honour of the Duke.

All newsreaders must wear black, alongside any other presenters who are on the television, as a sign of respect.
