Hearts v Raith Rovers at risk due to Covid outbreak as Dunfermline game is rescheduled

Hearts’ postponed game with Dunfermline has been rescheduled for Saturday 30 January at 3pm.

But the Championship clash with Raith Rovers is now in doubt after the Kirkcaldy club requested this weekend’s game against Inverness be postponed due to a Covid outbreak.

The meeting with the Pars was meant to take place on Tuesday, but was called off after Dunfermline’s Scottish Cup game against Greenock Morton was rescheduled for then, although that was eventually postponed as well.

Given the Scottish Cup has now been paused, Stevie Crawford will take his team to Tynecastle on the free date left by that decision.

But their game against Raith scheduled for the previous Saturday could now be off given Rovers' Covid issues.

A number of players and staff have tested positive and will now have to self isolate for ten days, which would rule them out of facing Hearts on Saturday 23 January.

Robbie Neilson is then due to take his team to Stark’s Park just three days later.

Theoretically the game in Gorgie could be moved to the Sunday, but that would then mean the Tuesday night encounter would have to be moved too.

Raith have not yet confirmed whether this weekend’s game has been postponed and will issue updates in due course.
