Hearts v Motherwell: Steelmen "very hopeful" of away ticket allocation for capital clash

Motherwell chief executive Alan Burrows has said he is "very hopeful" that fans will be able to cheer on their side when they face Hearts at Tynecastle next month.

The Steelmen drew 1-1 with champions Rangers at Ibrox on Sunday and it would have been a memorable occasion for the Fir Park faithful to experience, but they were locked out of Ibrox due to the Covid red zones still in place.

Fans, instead, watched on big screens at Fir Park as Kaiyne Woolery's second half equaliser stunned the capacity home crowd and dampened flag day in Govan.

Motherwell's next away day is on Saturday, October 2, when they are set to travel to the capital to face Robbie Neilson's Jambos.

And Burrows has told this morning that he is optimistic they will receive an allocation for fans to be in attendance in Gorgie.

Responding to a ticket query on Twitter, Burrows posted: "I have chatted with Hearts this morning and I am very hopeful we will have an away allocation.

"They are, understandably, trying to get as much information as possible re: vaccine passports etc, but the signs look positive that we'll have 'Well fans at Tynecastle."

This weekend, Motherwell will look to build on their fantastic point at Ibrox when they welcome Ross County.
