Hearts transfer news as Kyle Lafferty 'offered deal' by Premiership side

Kilmarnock have 'offered a deal' to former Hearts striker Kyle Lafferty, according to a report.

The Daily Record claim Kilmarnock have launched an ambitious move for the Northern Ireland forward under new boss Tommy Wright.

Lafferty has been a free agent since leaving Italian side Reggina in January.

The ex-Rangers man turned down a move to Romanian club Sepsi earlier today and now Killie have made a move for the talisman.

The Ayrshire side will supposedly offer Lafferty a short-term deal until the end of the season.

Former St Johnstone manager Wright replaced Alex Dyer at Rugby Park last week and is looking for attacking reinforcements as Killie were dragged further down into the relegation battle after a 1-0 defeat to Motherwell on Wednesday night.

And he could link up with his compatriot Lafferty who has a wealth of Premiership experience with Hearts and Rangers.

Lafferty is looking for a regular first team football to keep himself fit for Northern Ireland duty.
