Hearts to face Burnley in pre-season friendly as Robbie Neilson tests his team against English Premier League side

Hearts head south this weekend to play Burnley in their latest pre-season friendly.

Robbie Neilson’s side will be taking in the English Premier League outfit in their second challenge match in just four days after a 2-1 victory over St Mirren on Wednesday.

The Scottish Championship favourites will travel down to Lancashire today ahead of tomorrow’s 12.30 kick-off in the behind closed doors fixture, which is taking place at Burnley’s Barnfield Training Centre.

Sean Dyche’s side were due to kick-off their league campaign a week tomorrow with Manchester United the visitors to Turf Moor.

However, that’s been postponed after Manchester United were promised a 3--day break following the conclusion of their Europa League campaign.

Instead, the Clarets will kick off their season away to Brendan Rodgers’ Leicester City seven days later.

The Jambos aren’t in competitive action until 6 October when they host Inverness CT in the Betfred Cup at Tynecastle.

There could be a familiar face on show tomorrow if former Hearts loanee Jimmy Dunne is involved for the hosts, while recent loan signing Josh Ginnelly is also likely to feature against his former club, having played for Burnley before his switch to local rivals Preston North End.
