Hearts team v Sunderland revealed as Robbie Neilson makes changes for Tynecastle friendly

The Hearts team to face Sunderland this afternoon has been confirmed.

Robbie Neilson hinted at changes from Wednesday's Premier Sports Cup win over Cove Rangers and he's made for the visit of the Black Cats.

Ross Stewart gets a shot between the sticks replacing Craig Gordon, who is given the afternoon off.

Jamie Walker makes his return to the starting line up, replacing Josh Ginnelly who doesn't make the match day squad.

Peter Haring returns to midfield alongside youngster Finlay Pollock with Andy Halliday moving to left wing back.

Stephen Kingsley also sits this one out and Alex Cochrane will play on the left hand side of the back three.

It's a young bench, with the likes of Aidan Denholm, Leo Watson, Callum Flat and MaCaulay Tait hoping to get some first team minutes.

Hearts: Stewart, Souttar, Halkett, Cochrane, M Smith, Haring, Pollock, Halliday, Walker, Mackay-Steven, Boyce.

Subs: McFarlane, McEneff, Roberts, Henderson, McGill, C Smith, Popescu, Damour, Watson, Denholm, Flatman, Tait.
