Hearts team v Cove Rangers predicted as Armand Gnanduillet faces fitness race for Tynecastle fan return

Striker Armand Gnanduillet could be set to play in front of a home Hearts crowd for the first time since joining the club in January.

The Ivorian striker missed Saturday's win over Peterhead in the Premier Sports Cup group stage but may be fit for the Tynecastle clash against Cove Rangers.

He'll likely link back up with Liam Boyce in attack and manager Robbie Neilson could again deploy a three-man defence.

That could see new signing Alex Cochrane shifted out as a right wing-back with Stephen Kingsley on the left.

Michael Smith typically tucks in on the right side of the three in that formation and he'll have John Souttar and Craig Halkett for company.

2,000 Jambos are expected in Gorgie for the first time since football was paused in March 2020, which led to the club's arguably unjust relegation.

And that means Gnanduillet, plus the likes of Aaron McEneff, Josh Ginnelly and Gary Mackay-Steven, could be acquainted with those supporters for the very first time.

Predicted Hearts lineup: Gordon, Kingsley, Souttar, Halkett, Smith, Cochrane, McEneff, Haring, Ginnelly, Boyce, Gnanduillet.
