Hearts team news v Brora Rangers revealed as John Souttar makes shock return

The Hearts team to face Brora Rangers in the Scottish Cup has been named.

Robbie Neilson makes six changes to the side that drew 0-0 with Arboath in the Championship at the weekend.

The headline news is that John Souttar is back in the squad for the first time in over a year since suffering another serious Achilles injury.

The Scotland international takes his place on the bench and whether he'll actually get a run out remains to be seen, but it's still a massive boost for both the player and club to be back at this stage.

Two of those are enforced. Ross Stewart replaced Craig Gordon in goal with the number one away with Scotland on international duty.

Michael Smith is in Italy with Northern Ireland ahead of their qualifier against Italy, so there’s been a reshuffle at the back.

Liam Boyce's availability is a welcome bonus after he decided against joining Smith in Ian Baraclough's squad after the birth of his son.

Hearts: Stewart, Halkett, Berra, White, Irving, Haring, McEneff, Walker, Mackay-Steven, Kastaneer, Gnanduillet.

Subs: Zlamal, Souttar, Boyce, Frear, Popescu, Henderson, McGill.
