Hearts team news v Ayr United as Robbie Neilson hands striker first start

The Hearts team to take on Ayr United tonight has been comfirmed.

After his match winning cameo off the bench last Saturday, Jamie Walker returns to the starting line up in place of captain Steven Naismith.

And there's a first start for French striker Armand Gnanduillet, who partners Liam Boyce up front for the Championship clash.

Gnanduillet came off the bench on his debut to net twice against Raith Rovers then got another came as a sub in the 1-0 win over Dunfermline.

Now he's been given the chance to lead the line for the first time from the start after building up his match fitness.

New arrivals Aaron McEneff and Gervane Kastaneer make the bench.

McEneff hasn't played competitively since the beginning of December and Kastaneer has only made two appearances for Coventry this season, so their debuts will be as subs should they make them.

Hearts: Gordon, Smith, Halkett, Popescu, Kingsley, Halliday, Irving, Walker, Mackay-Steven, Boyce, Gnanduillet.

Subs: Stewart, White, Haring, Berra, Naismith, McEneff, Kastaneer.
