Hearts striker Uche Ikpeazu set for African Cup of Nations action after international call-up

Uche Ikpeazu is set to feature in the upcoming African Cup of Nations qualifiers after being handed an international call-up for Uganda.

The Hearts striker has been absent for Daniel Stendel's side in recent matches, but could feature for Johnny McKinstry's side in their double header against South Sudan later this month.

As reported by Record Sport , the 25-year-old was born in Harrow but is eligible for Uganda via his mother.

Ikpeazu has two goals and six assists in 29 matches this season, but wasn't even included in squads for recent matches against Rangers and Hibs.

Motherwell defender Bevis Mugabi has also been included in the Uganda squad for the upcoming qualifiers.

They currently sit top of their group with four points from two matches. Burkina Faso, Malawi and South Sudan make up Group B.
