Hearts star extends loan deal at Airdrie

Airdrie have confirmed that midfielder Scott McGill has extended his loan deal from Hearts until the end of this season.

The 19-year-old has been impressive in the first half of the League One season, climbing off the bench to net a debut goal in a sensational Premier Sports Cup win over Motherwell at New Broomfield in July.

McGill has gone on to make 21 appearances in all competitions, and delighted boss Ian Murray told the Airdrie website: "We’re really happy to agree a deal for Scott to stay on.

"He has done very well and is getting better all the time. Hopefully he will continue to improve and add to his 20-plus appearances.

"He has been a pleasure to work with."

Airdrie also announced that defensive midfielder Rhys Caves has returned to Dundee United at the end of his loan spell.
