Craig Gordon has added another personal accolade to his collection after being crowned cinch Premiership Player of the Season.

The Hearts skipper has capped off a stunning campaign on the park by being voted the best player in the domestic league.

The Scotland No1 has already picked up the Fans' Player of the Year and Player's Player of the Year gongs at Hearts' own awards night.

He also landed the SFWA Player of the Year award.

Gordon has kept 20 clean sheets in domestic competition this season and will have the chance to make that 21 this weekend at Hampden.

He will lead out Robbie Neilson's men as they bid for Scottish Cup glory against Rangers.

The Light Blues have the small matter of a Europa League final with Frankfurt to contend before they jet back for their bid to land domestic silverware.

It's already been a stunning season for Hearts this term after finishing third in the table.

That combined with a spot in the Scottish Cup Final has assured the capital club of a spot in the Europa League play-off round - and guaranteed group stage football.

Should the Jambos lose out in the final qualifying stage they will drop into the Europa Conference League proper, in a major financial boost for the club.

On loan hitman Ellis Simms has described Saturday's final as the 'biggest game' of his career to date as he targets a winners' medal.

He said: "Getting to the final has been a bonus and the aspirations are to go all the way now and win it.

“The semi-final goal was special. It helped get us to where we are.

“It was a great experience. The fans were great, the atmosphere was something else. It was a really great occasion.

“It’s gone now though, we want to win the final and not just be part of it. We have worked hard to get to where we are and we are really looking forward to the occasion.

“I’ve got family and friends coming up. They were there at the semi final so they will be there again in the final. Hopefully we get the same outcome.

“This will be a big game for me - the biggest game of my career so far.

"I want to win, everyone here wants to win. We are hungry and we will be ready for this game.”
