Hearts squad revealed as Robbie Neilson to make late John Souttar call

Top spot in the Scottish Premiership is the incentive for Hearts and Motherwell as they prepare to meet in a huge Tynecastle clash.

And Robbie Neilson has some big decisions to make ahead of the Gorgie crunch as they look to kick on from last week’s 3-0 win over Livingston.

John Souttar sat out the Lions victory with a thigh strain and Neilson is set to make a late call on the Scotland stopper.

Speaking on Friday, Neilson said: “Souttar trained a bit today and we will make a decision tomorrow,”

Fellow central defender Craig Halkett has trained all week after he was taken off against Livingston with a head knock.

Neilson at least has the option of starting Taylor Moore again if he is short in the heart of defence after the on-loan Bristol City man was on the team sheet against Livi and could be again against Motherwell.

Josh Ginnelly is back in contention after missing the last two games with an ankle problem, meaning Neilson could have a full-strength squad to select from.

And Neilson said: “It’s a good problem to have. We have a good, hungry group here and it’s my job to manage them.

“Somebody comes out and somebody comes in so we need to make sure the group is good.”
