Hearts squad numbers revealed ahead of first competitive game of 2021/22 season

The Hearts squad numbers for the new season have been revealed.

There aren’t major changes ahead of their return to the Premiership and a couple of big hitters remain free ahead of further recruitment.

Robbie Neilson is keen to get the right players in so isn’t afraid of waiting until after the league opener against Celtic.

A centre back and striker are on his list, with Christophe Berra’s number six now vacant and still no takers for the number nine shirt. Aidy White’s departure has allowed Stephen Kingsley to move to number three and Alex Cochrane is handed 17.

A couple of January’s arrivals at Tynecastle have gone for upgrades.

Aaron McEneff takes Olly Lee’s old number eight while Gary Mackay-Steven has gone for 11, with Jordan Roberts taking 20.

Craig Halkett gave up his usual number 26 in a tribute to the late Marius Zaliukas and will wear 19 instead this season.

Loic Damour has come back in from the cold this pre-season and has been allocated number 29.
