Hearts have confirmed their squad numbers of the 2020/21 season.
With a number of players leaving Tynecastle over the summer and seven arriving, there’s been plenty of opportunity to swap with a number taking the chance to pick preferred numbers or at least take lower ones than before.
The higher profile changes see Craig Gordon unsurrpisngly handed the number one shirt, while back-up ‘keeper Ross Stewart takes 13. Previous number one Zdenek Zlamal is now number 23.
New centre Mihail Popescu will wear number 28, while midfielder Andy Halliday keeps it consistent and has picked 16 - the same number he wore at previous club Rangers.
Olly Lee reclaims the vacant number eight shirt he was robbed of last pre-season in favour of Sean Clare, who has since left for Oxford United. Jamie Walker moves back to his preferred number seven from ten, which was free following Oliver Bozanic’s departure.
Jordan Roberts is Hearts ’ new number 11, while fellow wide men Elliott Frear and Josh Ginnelly will wear 24 and 30 respectively.
In a surprise move Liam Boyce has opted for the number ten shirt vacated by Walker, despite number nine remaining free.
Latest addition Stephen Kingsley is number 2 while midfielder Andy Irving has swapped 41 for 19.
