Hearts reveal new home kit as club pay tribute to 'incredible support'

Hearts have unveiled their new home kit for the 2020/21 season.

The latest design is available for fans to order now for shipping from May 28 after the club revealed it across their social media accounts on Friday.

Produced by Umbro, the new shirt makes no radical departure from last season's effort, but with notable changes on the collar and sleeves.

The gold accents that embellish the club crest have been replicated on the cuff, while last season's white collar has been filled in with the classic maroon shade.

On the back, the words "Glorious Hearts" are inscribed just below the neck.

The club say they've been bombarded with requests from fans begging for the new strip to be revealed, despite uncertainty over when the 2020/21 SPFL season will start.

Hearts are set to begin next season in the Championship after the decision to end the Premiership season earlier this week condemned the Tynecastle side to the drop.

But they've moved to lift supporter spirits by dropping the new jersey for sale.

A club statement said: "As per recent seasons, the top features a hugely popular sign off on the back of the neck, this time bearing the two famous words from our club song: Glorious Hearts.

"The jersey is complimented by a white home short featuring a dark maroon side panel. The maroon socks share the white and gold strips from the shirt cuff and the iconic Umbro white diamond to the front.

"Normally, the launch of the new home kit acts as the start of the countdown to the new season. The situation we all currently find ourselves in, however, is far from normal. Despite the uncertainty surrounding Scottish football and society as a whole, the incredible backing of the Hearts support remains our one true constant.

"More than 3,000 Jambos have already secured their season ticket for 2020/21 despite not knowing when they will be allowed to return to Tynecastle. In recent weeks, we have been inundated with messages from fans asking when they will be able to get their hands on the new kit. Amidst all the uncertainty, there is still an overwhelming desire amongst our supporters to wear the famous maroon jersey with pride.

"As we all continue to stay safe at home, we hope that as many of you as possible will choose to do so whilst clad in the stunning new home jersey. Should you choose to do so, then rest assured that, at a time when the club’s income streams have been severely restricted, new kit sales will provide a vital source of income to Heart of Midlothian.

"As always, we thank you all for your incredible support."
